Biden was the first to oppose the request extra 40 thousand soldiers who filed the U.S. forces commander in Afghanistan General Stanley McChrystal.
Biden suggests the U.S. is more concentrated to Pakistan because that is where Al Qaeda, which he considered more dangerous than the Taliban, now nesting. ''Al Qaeda hiding in Pakistan which has nuclear weapons,''he said in paper he gave a short name Counterterrorism-Plus.
Initially, these suggestions are contrary to public opinion in Washington that since the era of President George W. Bush is holding fast to the principle of Af-Pak aka Afghanistan and Pakistan. That is, Afghanistan is more important than Pakistan. But, later proved to Biden's ideas began to get support.
The most senior senators in the Senate from Democrat Robert C. Byrd questioned how much more money and the lives of U.S. soldiers who have sacrificed in Afghanistan. Jim McGovern, who is also a member of Congress from the Democrats, and even began campaigning for the need for legislation that provides opportunities withdrawal of U.S. troops. Some Republicans in the senate and congress also voiced similar.
Though not yet a final decision, Obama was reportedly beginning to soften because of Biden's suggestion. Fixed sending additional troops, but not as much as the amount requested McChrystal.
Why does not fully comply Obama Biden advice if the Republicans have supported? Issue here. Throughout his political career, Biden better known as Mr. Wrong, Politicians are often wrong in judging.
In 1990, he opposed the Gulf War that the U.S. eventually won it with a low cost. Then, 13 years ago, he actually supported the invasion of Iraq who later created endless trouble for Uncle Sam's country. And, in 2007, he refused to sending additional troops to Iraq that later proved to stabilize the situation in the country that night in 1001.
Biden used as a companion dipinang Obama because he is a safe choice. He is white and is considered experienced in handling foreign affairs, something which was not so controlled by Obama.
But, Obama might have forgotten, which is the overseas experience that Biden was actually a position as chairman of the Senate foreign committee. Biden was never in a position to take important decisions at all costs as Obama faced in the case of Afghanistan. Because, Biden never held an administrative position in the executive branch. Throughout his career, he was more like a commentator.
From there, perhaps, carelessness comes. Carelessness is reportedly becoming upset Obama and circle it. To the point, a senior adviser to Obama, as quoted by Bill Sammon Fox News, Said,''The biggest problem he (Biden) is that he could never shut her mouth.'' (war / ttg)
